Ravyn Lenae’s Bird’s Eye was one of 2024’s best alternative R&B albums. Now, with two new singles dropped in April 2026, she’s heading somewhere else entirely.
“Reputation,” featuring Dominic Fike, opens with acoustic guitar — a grounded, vulnerable sound for an artist known for atmospheric production. The song is about the weight of a relationship nobody wants to end. Fike’s deadpan delivery adds a layer of exhaustion.
“Bobby” is the surprise. It’s indie surf rock — think Beach Fossils, not Badu. A luscious, bedroom-pop sheen coats the track, but the bones are Lenae’s signature: sticky melodies, dreamy soundscapes, and that voice.
Why this matters
Lenae is clearly shaping her third album. If she can hold both the atmospheric R&B and this new indie-adjacent confidence, the next project could be her defining statement.
Verdict
Two songs, two directions, and a clear signal: Ravyn Lenae is leveling up.
