The Ummah was the production banner used by A Tribe Called Quest’s inner circle in the mid- to late-1990s, helping shape a warmer, jazzier branch of hip hop production. The project is tightly linked to A Tribe Called Quest and the studio chemistry between Q-Tip, J Dilla, and Ali Shaheed Muhammad.
