A Tribe Called Quest is a New York hip-hop group whose jazz samples, conversational flows, and socially aware writing helped redefine mainstream and underground rap alike. As one of the core Native Tongues acts, the group became a blueprint for thoughtful, musically adventurous hip-hop and later worked with producers such as J Dilla.
